We value our Customers and when purchasing from Stainless Steel Tanks Pty Ltd (“Stainless Steel Water Tanks”), we want to make our customers experiences with our business the best experience possible. If something goes wrong with your product, you should always contact us first and we will do what we can to help. The terms and conditions below outline your rights in relation to the warranty we provide for our products that you have purchased.

A. Statutory Notice to Consumers

When purchasing goods from Stainless Steel Water Tanks, these goods come with certain warranties under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. “Consumer” is defined under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Consumers are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

B. Our Warranty

Subject to these Terms & Conditions, Stainless Steel Water Tanks will, in their absolute discretion, repair or replace any defect or fault in a Stainless Steel Tanks Pty Ltd 304 Grade Stainless Steel water tank or a Stainless Steel Tanks Pty Ltd 316 Grade Stainless Steel water tank (“the Goods”) that is purchased and installed within mainland Australia for a period of thirty (30) years from the purchase date (“the Warranty Period”) where, in the opinion of Stainless Steel Water Tanks, such defect or fault is caused by the manufacturing process of Stainless Steel Water Tanks.

C. Conditions of Warranty

  1. For this Warranty to be effective, the Customer must sign and return the Acknowledgment of Warranty Certificate attached to this Warranty Certificate to Stainless Steel Water Tanks within fourteen days of the date of delivery of the Goods.
  2. This Warranty shall commence on the date of delivery of the Goods to the Customer. The Warranty Period shall only apply to goods purchased from Stainless Steel Water Tanks within mainland Australia.
  3. The Customer shall be responsible for retaining the original invoice or receipted delivery docket for the purchase of the Goods issued by Stainless Steel Water Tanks as proof of the date of the purchase.
  4. This Warranty shall only apply to the stainless steel structure of the Goods. This Warranty does not extend to:
    a. Accessories installed in relation to the Goods, including but not limited to the strainer, outlet, valve, tap overflow or any other fittings, parts or accessories, whether or not the accessories are installed by Stainless Steel Water Tanks, the Customer, or a third party; or,
    b.Any fittings, parts or accessories installed in relation to the Goods that are not manufactured or installed by Stainless Steel Water Tanks; or,
    c. Any damage, fault, defect or loss caused by any fittings, parts or accessories installed in relation to the Goods that are not manufactured or installed by Stainless Steel Water Tanks.
  5. The colour of the Goods may fade or change overtime due to usual wear and tear and weather exposure. This Warranty does not apply to any fading or changing of colour of the Goods.
  6. Prior to the Goods being delivered, the Customer is responsible for the construction of the base (“the Base”) on which the Goods will be installed. The Base must be constructed in accordance with Stainless Steel Water Tanks Base Preparation Guide provided to the Customer at the time of purchase. If, in the opinion of Stainless Steel Water Tanks, the Base is not sufficient or does not meet the requirements, this Warranty does not apply to any damage, fault, loss or defect caused to the Goods as a result of a defective or non-compliant Base.
  7. The Customer is responsible for the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of the Base, including any undermining and/or erosion of the Base. If, in the opinion of Stainless Steel Water Tanks, the Customer has not continued to properly maintain the Base, this Warranty does not apply to any damage, fault, loss or defect caused to the Goods as a result of the failed maintenance.
  8. The Customer is required to follow the installation instructions for the Goods provided to the Customer in the Tank Installation Guide at the time the goods are delivered. The Tank Installation Guide is also available via Stainless Steel Water Tanks website. If, in the opinion of Stainless Steel Water Tanks, the Customer has not complied with the Tank Installation Guide, this Warranty does not apply to any damage, fault, loss or defect caused to the Goods as a result of the failure to do so.
  9. When the Goods are delivered to the Customer, there may be a protective plastic film attached to the Goods. The Customer is required to remove this protective plastic film immediately upon the installation of the Goods. If, in the opinion of Stainless Steel Water Tanks, the Customer has not removed the protective plastic film from the Goods immediately upon the installation of the Goods, this Warranty does not apply to any damage, fault, loss or defect caused to the Goods as a result of the failure to do so.
  10. In addition to the above, this Warranty does not apply to any damage, fault, loss or defect caused to the Goods as a result of:
    a. The Goods being used for any purpose other than the purpose for which it was intended by Stainless Steel Water Tanks;
    b. The Goods being used to store any liquid or material other than rain water;
    c. The Goods being used to transport water;
    d. The Goods being moved by any person other than an authorised representative of Stainless Steel Water Tanks;
    e. Any mechanical or chemical damage to the Goods resulting from installation; or,
    f. Any damage caused to the Goods due to or arising from an event outside the control of Stainless Steel Water Tanks including but not limited to fire, floods, abnormal or natural weather event, war, riot/civil commotion and any other event not reasonably foreseeable.
  11. The Customer acknowledges that it is required to provide photographic evidence as confirmation to Stainless Steel Water Tanks of the Goods being installed and placed on the Base within thirty days of delivery of the Goods to the Customer. This Warranty is void if the Customer fails to provide the photographic evidence to Stainless Steel Water Tanks of the installation of the Goods. The Customer must provide photographs to Stainless Steel Water Tanks showing all sides of the base, removal of the plastic film and the completed installation within thirty days of the date of delivery. Stainless Steel Water Tanks has the right to request further photos from the Customer if required.
  12. Stainless Steel Water Tanks require the Goods to be required to be filled with water immediately upon delivery to the Customer. If the Goods are not filled with water immediately upon delivery, it is the responsibility of the Customer to take any precautionary action that may be reasonably required to minimise any damage to the Goods, including but not limited to securing or tying down the Goods. Stainless Steel Water Tanks will not be liable for any loss or damage to the Goods arising from the Customer’s failure to take precautionary actions to protect the Goods for the period that the Goods are not filled with water.
  13. If the Goods are damaged and are required to be repaired, any repair work will only be undertaken by Stainless Steel Water Tanks when the Goods have been emptied and do not contain any water. The Customer shall be responsible for all costs and expenses associated with removing any water from the Goods prior to any repair work taking place. The Customer shall be responsible for any landscaping, plumbing and/or electrical works as applicable that are required to be removed or completed prior to the repair work taking place. Stainless Steel Water Tanks will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered due to emptying of water from the Goods.
  14. Should the Customer wish to make a claim pursuant to this Warranty Certificate, the Customer must notify Stainless Steel Water Tanks of any damage, fault, loss or defect within seven days of its occurrence (“the Notice”). All claims must be made in writing to Stainless Steel Water Tanks and be supported by photographic evidence of the damage or defect. Stainless Steel Water Tanks has the right to request further photos from the Customer if required to substantiate the Claim. Stainless Steel Water Tanks must be given the opportunity to inspect the Goods that are subject to such claim within twenty-eight days of the Notice from the Customer.
  15. Stainless Steel Water Tanks will assess all Notices received from Customers and following an outcome or conclusion being reached as to the cause of any damage, fault, loss or defect may choose to repair or replace the Goods, as determined in its sole discretion.
